Championship Officials

Little Athletics NSW conducts a number of championship events during the season. Little Athletics NSW relies on volunteers to fulfil both technical and administrative roles at those championships.

The championship events include:-

  • Trans Tasman Trials (biannually)

  • State Relays

  • Trans Tasman Challenge (biannually)

  • State Multi-Event

  • State Track and Field

  • NSW Cross Country (jointly with ANSW)

  • NSW Road Walks (jointly with ANSW)

Those volunteers are broadly divided into:-

1) LANSW Official

These are suitably accredited and/or experienced officials who are available to officiate at all or at least the majority of the state championship events. They will receive an AAOES name badge. These officials are nominated by zone coordinators, other LANSW officials, or can self nominate. The nominations are considered by the officials director with assistance from the officials appointments panel.

2) Carnival Official

These are suitably accredited and/or experienced officials who are available to officiate at specific championship events only. This has to be a minimum of a ½ day at the carnival although at least one day is preferred.

These officials are nominated by zone coordinators, other LANSW officials, or can self nominate. The nominations are considered by the officials director with assistance from the officials selection panel.

3) Carnival Report Form

Little Athletics NSW welcomes constructive feedback on the championship events it conducts. A sample report form has been developed to assist officials and others to provide that feedback. The completed form should be returned to the relevant carnival organiser e.g. LANSW, zone coordinator, region coordinator etc.
